Hello, my name is Dominic Charles, and I am a writer. Through my books, I have reinvented myself, channeling my complex past into compelling narratives.
Born and raised in Maryland by my mother, I faced many struggles due to the absence of a strong paternal figure. My dad was around during my early years but never enough to make a significant impact. This void led me to follow my cousins' example, especially in how they treated women. My mom and I shared a close bond, but her passing when I was sixteen left me feeling utterly alone.
I didn't truly find myself until my senior year of high school. Before then, I was the nerd, the ugly duckling—girls had no interest in me. But as I matured, grew, and came into some money, I transformed. This newfound status turned me into an arrogant jerk. I began buying things, living on my own, and discovered a talent for football. With money, talent, and girls, I felt invincible.
Moving to Georgia marked a turning point. I explored my identity, immersed myself in black culture, and attended a historically black college. I became passionate about social justice and the changes I wanted to see in the world. However, as the money dwindled, I was humbled. I moved to Florida, seeking another fresh start, but it didn’t go as planned. I relied on women for support, only to be used, denied, and cheated on by those seeking wealthier men. This cycle left me numb to the idea of love.
I've faced many dark days, losing close family members—my mom, dad, grandparents, and sister—and being betrayed by those I trusted. These experiences have shaped me and drive my writing. Yet, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I've grown significantly since my arrogant teenage years. I now understand the reasons behind my experiences and have learned from them. Despite the hardships, I'm grateful that something good has emerged from it all.
Welcome to my world, where every story is a journey through the shadows towards the light.
"I Need Therapy"
Dominic Charles; a guy with a normal upbringing, popular with women, and a star on the football field. Everything seemed normal from the outside. But inside there was darkness, the kind of darkness formed after a lifetime of not feeling good enough and never being respected. A Maryland native, Dominic decides to take his talents, both on and off the field, to Georgia for a new start; a new school, a new girlfriend, and a new therapist. Maybe he can finally shed some light on the darkness…
But all is not good in Peach County. Dead bodies are beginning to pop up left and right. Detective Thomas, the seasoned officer on the force, is racing around trying to figure out who this new threat is. What does this have to do with Dominic? And can Thomas catch the killer before it’s too late?
"Origin"
The Prequel to Book I:
You missed me, didn’t you? Or did you forget me entirely? Allow me to refresh your memory.
I’m Dominic Charles, a black serial killer born and raised in Glen Burnie, MD. You’d know me more from my adventures in Fort Valley, GA. Remember now? I bet you’ve been wondering what happened to me after Book I. Well, you aren’t ready for that story yet. To be honest, you and all the other readers out there don’t even know who I am. You read a book and now you think you know everything. You think you have me all figured out. You filled in the gaps with your own imagination. Maybe you’re right about me. But did you ever think there might be more to me? I deserve an origin story, a chance to shed light on why I became who I became. Maybe it’ll soften my image and help you understand. Maybe it won’t. But one way or another, you’re going to hear my side.
"Whatever Kills You"
Emily, a dedicated stay-at-home mom of two, embraces her dream job as a therapist. However, her seemingly perfect life takes an unexpected turn when she stumbles upon her husband CJ's flash drive, containing a trove of his intimate desires and secrets. Rather than confronting him outright, Emily embarks on a journey to unravel the mysteries hidden within the drive, seeking to understand the man she thought she knew. As she digs into CJ's clandestine world, Emily discovers that some secrets are better left untouched, and the revelations may change the course of her life forever. "Book III Whatever Kills You" is a gripping exploration of love, trust, and the consequences of peeling back the layers of a seemingly idyllic marriage.
